How to transition into pregnancy: interview with Anja Moncrieff, hypnobirthing specialist
You’re pregnant! Now what?
I know that most of you have probably dreamed about what it will feel like when you finally get that positive pregnancy test.
But for some women, transitioning into pregnancy can actually be emotionally challenging–especially if this has been a long and complicated journey for you.
Some women can experience a lot of fear and anxiety, especially if they’ve miscarried in the past. Other women feel guilty about leaving behind their fertility support communities and friends who aren’t pregnant yet. And some women don’t enjoy being pregnant (hello morning sickness) and feel bad that they aren’t loving every second.
Plus, sometimes it can be hard to connect with other women in the prenatal community–at birthing classes or prenatal yoga–who don’t understand what you went through to get here.
All this can make the transition into pregnancy complicated and challenging.
And that’s okay.
It’s normal and you’re not alone.
Today I’m chatting with Anja Moncrieff–a birthing specialist who works with women in a holistic way, to prepare both mind and body for birth, and help women like you transition into pregnancy.
In this interview, we sit down and chat about:
- hypnobirthing and what it really it (not as weird as it sounds),
- how emotionally complicated it can be to transition into pregnancy,
- and some tips for women entering this new phase.
Anja’s a wealth of resources and her philosophy and work strongly align with what we do here at Flourish Fertility–encompassing a mind-body approach that supports the whole woman.
Know that when the time comes, you’ll be fully supported in your transition into pregnancy, just as you’re supported on your fertility journey now.
